There are ten Units which accommodates our Students and these include: Poseidon, St. Croix, Gabriella, Receife, St. Brycdale, Scotia, Doddington, Amsterdam, Outeniqua and Sacramento, two of these which are Gabriella and Scotia are strictly for female students.
Disability friendly rooms for partially disabled students and for students that are wheelchair bound.
Hector Pieterson Residences is a no cooking residence. Food can be purchased at the cafeteria, Fedics.
Hector Pieterson Residences is involved in sporting activities that are injunction with the NMMU Residence League. We encourage our students to be involved in sport, these ranges from Soccer, Cricket, and Rugby etc.
The Residence swimming pool can be found within the Residence Premises near the cafeteria.
Students are able to study in the comfort of their room or to study at the Study Centre located behind the Residence.
The Residence is Wi-Fi enabled. Students are able to access Wi-Fi in the comfort of their room.
Each Unit has for bathrooms one for each half at ground floor as well as first floor. A typical bathroom has a bath, 2 toilets, and a shower.
Student TV lounge offers different channels including SS1 to SS10, plus Movie Channels such as MNet.
